148 mirror polished hollow steel balls in the size of ∅15-∅80 cm, forming a pattern that builds up under the idea of rising air bubbles up the tower walls. This amplifies the vertical direction of the tower and marks the place as a bit weird, wild and beautiful. The name of the cultural center, proximity to the river and Porsgrunn city’s industrial history have been the starting point for material selection and composition. Mixing air with water causes two contradictory forces. The air will go up and the water will go down. What happens in the meeting can be both explosive and outrageous. The intention is to reflect Porsgrunn’s identity as a future-oriented cultural city with a wide cultural offer that includes everyone.
